It’s hard to miss this giant pink hotel while strolling along Waikiki beach. The iconic Royal Hawaiian—named one of the best resorts in Hawaii in Travel and Leisure’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards—was built in 1927, and its Spanish-Moorish design features plenty of local materials. In the bathrooms, you’ll even find pink-tinted bathrobes. Every week, guests gather to join in on the traditional Hawaiian feast called Aha Aina, a Royal Hawaiian Luau.

Numerous beaches of Bermuda and the Caribbean islands have sand that can look pink at certain times of day (tour books will advise you to arrive at sunset or daybreak to catch the strongest color), but few tropical beaches can compete with Pink Sand Beach on Harbour Island. The purely natural blush of the sand, juxtaposed with the crystalline blue of the Atlantic surf, is quite a sight to behold and well worth a trip to this enchanted island.

Jaipur, the capital city of India’s Rajasthan province, is known as the Pink City because many of its buildings are constructed from the local limestone, which has a naturally rosy tint. Arguably the grandest of all Jaipur’s buildings is the Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds, a 1799 addition to the sprawling City Palace. The 953 windows of Hawa Mahal are decoratively obscured by carved stone screens, which permitted women of the royal family to look outside without being seen in order to adhere to strict social and religious codes. The façade of the five-story pink building, with its intricate stone work and domed hanging cornices, was designed to resemble the arched and jeweled crown of Lord Krishna.

Known as Florida's "Pink Palace," The Don CeSar, facing the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico, was built in 1928 to resemble a Mediterranean-style castle.   Opened in 1928, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Author F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, were regular guests. As was the gangster, Al Capone.  The Don CeSar has been revitalized and refreshed within, ensuring a future as rich and storied as its history. If you like your encounters with pink to be more personal, this tiny beach on Renaissance Island in Aruba is for you. In 2005, a flamboyance of flamingos (yes, that’s the name for a group of flamingos!) made their home on this beautiful private island.  The brightly colored birds stroll along the sand, amongst the sun loungers and the restaurants as if they own the place.  Tourists can opt for a day pass, or an exclusive overnight stay through the Renaissance Resort.
