When I was ten years old, I had a calendar hanging in my room that featured some of the most beautiful cities in Italy. I remember flipping through the pages and dreaming of the day that I could travel to some of these gorgeous places halfway around the world. While I imagined myself eating gelato in Rome or taking a gondola ride in Venice, the place I most wanted to visit was the island of Capri, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.

My Italian dream very nearly became a reality two years ago when we booked our flights and made our plans to take a Mediterranean cruise with our family in June 2020. So… not the greatest timing! As the world begins to open up, we have a new date on our calendar and the countdown is on for summer of 2022.

Believe it or not, there have been some benefits to our trip postponement. First, I have 18 extra months of experience working as a travel advisor. I have learned so much and have made some wonderful relationships with supplier partners across the country and around the world.
