Why We’re So Excited for the Disney Wish! Part One: Adults-Only Areas

Did you catch all the reveals for the new Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Wish?  If not, no worries! We’ve got you covered with a full replay of the event, and a roundup of all the reasons we are excited for the Disney Wish to set sail in 2022!

The Disney Wish will sail its inaugural season of three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay beginning in June 2022. Bookings open to the general public on May 27, 2021.

Featuring a design concept inspired by timeless tales of wishes come true, Guests will feel the unique personality of the Disney Wish the moment they step into the castle-inspired Grand Hall or storybook-inspired staterooms.

This week, I wanted to talk in a little more detail about the ship features designed only for adults.

Yep…adults really can enjoy a Disney Cruise Line ship too! I am a perfect example of someone who very much enjoys her time in the Adult-Only areas of the Disney ships. And after hearing what the Disney Wish has in store, I’m even more excited! The Disney Wish will offer places to escape, relax, dine and play in exclusive venues. Let’s take a look at some of the incredibly unique locations.

Star Wars: Hyper Space Lounge

Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge.jpg

Disney knows that adults love the lounges on each of their four ships, but take them up a notch by theming them after a Disney story and you’ve got a place that will be the must visit spot, especially for Star Wars fans. That’s because, for the first time on a Disney ship, guests will be able to visit the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge. This will be a high-end bar styled as a luxurious yacht-class spaceship. This richly themed, immersive experience will be reserved for adults every evening, offering interactive tasting experiences and signature beverages inspired by the films.

Palo Steakhouse

One of my favorite dining experiences anywhere is on Disney Cruise Line and it’s Palo. On the Disney Wish, Guests will be able to visit Palo Steakhouse, which is an evolution of the Palo restaurant. Palo Steakhouse will now combine authentic Italian dining with a modern steakhouse. The setting of the updated Palo Steakhouse will be inspired by Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast. (The live action version.)

Palo Steakhouse will be an elegant, welcoming environment with spectacular ocean views off the back of the ship. The venue will include a warm, luxurious palette of rich woods and shining metals, along with artwork and details that evoke ornate clocks, pendulums and gears. There will also be a private dining room for more intimate gatherings of up to 12 guests.

Quiet Cove

For those 18 and over, you’ll still have a great area to hang out and relax onboard the Disney Wish. Quiet Cove will be a secluded adults-only district dedicated to lounging, sipping and soaking. This area will be set away from the family areas at the back of the ship and will offer breathtaking views of the ocean from a luxurious infinity pool. Adults will be able to take a dip in the pool, unwind in a whirlpool spa, relax in a chaise lounge and indulge in a beverage from Cove Bar, which will be an open-air bar offering beer, wine and cocktails.

Another Disney Cruise Line favorite is the Cove Cafe, which is a poolside lounge that offers gourmet coffees, teas, specialty drinks and treats throughout the day. For the Disney Wish, this spot will feature the Oceania-inspired artistry Moana.

Of course, there is so much more to explore when it comes to family fun on the Disney Wish. Stay tuned next week for a special post by our teen correspondent Audrey Legg!
