Why Our Teenager is So Excited for the Disney Wish! Part Two: Kid and Family Fun

Hey everyone! Audrey here! As some of us know, Disney Cruise Line released a virtual tour for the newest addition to the ship fleet, the Disney Wish! With its whimsical design and Captain Minnie around every corner, this will be the cruise to remember. Many new things were released on the documentary (which you can view here), but I will hit the highlights from the video.

1. The Immersive Dining Rotation

First, on every Disney Cruise Line ship, there are a minimum of three restaurants you can enjoy as a part of your cruise experience. However, there are three new brand new dinner experiences on the Disney Wish! First is Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. The menu will feature some Nordic-inspired food as well as your regular comfort food. It's definitely a must see. Secondly is, Worlds of Marvel. Disney says that, “will play an interactive role in an action-packed Avengers mission that unfolds around them.” And finally, 1929, a restaurant that will be set in the golden age of Hollywood!

2. Kids Adventures at Sea

Again, on every Disney cruise, there will be the same three kid and teen clubs. Oceaneer Club/Lab (ages 3 to 12), Edge (11 to 14) and Vibe (14 to 17). But the Oceaneer Club will have a secret tunnel entrance from the main lobby. Kids will slide right into the front of the club. Inside the Oceaneer Club, there will be multiple rooms with full immersive Disney experiences. Marvel Superhero Academy, Rapunzel’s Art Studio, Belle’s Library and Anna and Elsa’s Sommerhus.

In addition to the kids clubs, the ship will offer the AquaMouse: the first ever attraction at sea. But that’s not just for kids, adults will love the waterslide just as much as their kids will.

3. Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge

Finally, the adults will be able to enjoy a perfectly themed Star Wars lounge and bar. The lounge will be open to kids during the day but will close too just kids at heart. Danny Handke, the designer of the lounge states that, “‘You know, we have Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. What if we explored, as a nice juxtaposition to that, doing kind of a Dryden Vos yacht ship?’ We landed on that, doing something sophisticated, which also matches the design of the Disney Wish.”

All in all, the Disney Wish will be an awesome experience for kids and adults alike.

The Disney Wish will sail its inaugural season of three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay beginning in June 2022. Bookings open to the general public on May 27, 2021.

Please reach out if you have any questions about any of the ships in the Disney Fleet!
