Best Aruba Beach for Every Type of Beach-Goer
Aruba’s Award Winning Beaches are second to none and one of the many reasons travelers pick to return to this tropical paradise again and again. With dozens of spots to choose from to spend your day, there is an ideal beach for every type of vacationer.
For the Beach Lover/Photographer: Eagle Beach
Eagle Beach is home to two of the most famously photographed and familiar fofoti trees in Aruba (see picture below…IYKYK). Crystal clear and calm waters, white beaches, and palm trees sprinkled along the coastline make it easy to see why it is consistently ranked in the top 10 Best Beaches in the world on TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards Best Beaches List (it ranked the #3 in 2019!).
For the Surfer: Hadicurari Beach (Fisherman's Huts Beach)
If you are already an experienced wind or kite surfer or are looking to learn how while in Aruba, head to Hadicurari Beach. Also referred to as Fisherman’s Huts Beach (Huts Beach for short), the beach was once home to fishermen and was nicknamed for the small huts they built there. The largest wind-surfing competition in the Caribbean, the Aruba Hi-Winds, is hosted on Hadicurari Beach every summer.
For the Adventurer: Boca Brins Beach
Rocky shores and white dunes sets Boca Brins Beach apart from the other beaches of Aruba. On the secluded North Shore of the island, Boca Brins is located in Arikok: Aruba’s National Park. While it may be tempting to take a dip in the breathtakingly blue waves, visitors are encouraged not to because of the strong and always present undertow.
For the Snorkeler: Malmok Beach and Boca Catalina Beach
When clear shallow waters mix with reefs and sunken ships, you get the perfect snorkeling and diving experience Aruba has to offer on Malmok Beach. Traveling with young ones? Boca Catalina Beach is also a wonderful snorkeling beach which tends towards more novice, shallow water snorkeling. Visiting both beaches is a must when you are on the Island!
For a Family Beach Day: Surfside Beach and Arashi Beach
Located near the airport and perfect for plane spotting, Surfside Beach has everything you need for a perfect beach day: calm waters for SUP paddle boarding, restaurants and bars dotting the shoreline, and a floating water park for kids. Make a day out of it and rent a four canopy beach-bed or beach chairs at Reflexions Restaurant.
Want a more laid back, but still family friendly spot? Arashi Beach is located north of Malmok Beach and is near the famous California Lighthouse. It’s the perfect beach for lounging and sunbathing and features a beachside restaurant with frequent live music. If your kids can last long enough, stick around for the sunset views: one of the best on the island!
For Parents with Toddlers: Baby Beach
Located on the southern part of the island and home to a large, moon shaped lagoon, Baby Beach is ideal (and perfectly named!) for families with young kids. The shallow waters make optimal conditions for toddlers to wade far out, and a roped area for snorkeling will keep older siblings satisfied. A quick service refreshment stand is available for feeding your little ones quickly. Worried the SPF will wear off before the kids have worn out? Complimentary huts are set up along the beach for relaxing out of the sun.
For the Beach Reader: Rodger’s Beach
If you want to steer clear of the more populated areas of Palm Beach and Baby Beach and enjoy a more local spot, Rodger’s Beach is for you. During the week the beach is mostly deserted so is ideal for catching up on your reading (or napping!), and if you happen to stop in on the weekend you will get to enjoy watching local families gather. Wanting to catch a photo of one of the iconic colorful fishing boats that dock along the Aruban shores? Rodger’s Beach is your best chance to snap a shot.
For Party-Goers and the Best People Watching: Palm Beach
Home to the Aruban two mile high rise hotel strip, Palm Beach is a must if you want to be in the middle of it all. During the day, look no further than to sit and observe the hustle and bustle of the populous beach. After the sun goes down, this beach is home to many nightclubs, restaurants, and casinos for those wanting to get a taste of Aruba nightlife.
