Our Jamaican Vacation Series - Part Three

Audrey+Flowers.jpg — Last month, my family and I got to go on an amazing vacation to the beautiful beaches of Ocho Rios, Jamaica!
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a number of excursions that are offered off-property were not available. This included the Dunes River Falls excursion and the Mystic Mountain Sky Explorer. We look forwarded to visiting Ocho Rios again to explore the area beyond our resort!

Before our trip, we weren’t sure which excursions at the Moon Palace Resort would be available, and we were pleasantly surprised to find so many options! Read on to hear about my three favorite excursions!

Snorkeling Adventure

Just outside the resort there is a huge natural reef that Scuba Caribe (the company partnered with Moon Palace) took us out too. My brother, dad, and I went snorkeling with about ten other guests, so it was very private.
After a 5-10 minute boat ride to get to the reef, the three workers on the boat gave us pre-sanitized masks and flippers. We jumped in the water and started our one-hour snorkel adventure! We saw so many cool fish, stingrays, and a harmless sea snake! I will definitely be snorkeling again!

Sunset Catamaran Cruise

On the second to last night of our trip, my mom booked us a catamaran cruise with Scuba Caribe! I had no idea what to expect but I had always wanted to go on a catamaran ever since I got a Lego catamaran set for Christmas a couple years ago. The 30-minute boat ride over to a white sand cove was beautiful! Once at the cove, there was an optional swim which was awesome! On the way back to the resort, 2 dolphins came up next to the boat and swam next to us for awhile. The sunset was gorgeous and definitely a must-see!

Dolphin Adventure

At Moon Palace, they had an amazing dolphin cove with different adventures and swims available. We had the opportunity to do the Dolphin Adventure which meant having the opportunity to interact with one dolphin. We were in the water for about 30 minutes and got to experience a dolphin-powered boogie board ride, a belly-to-belly swim, a dolphin dance party, and of course, a dolphin kiss. This was my favorite excursion because you were in the water with a dolphin! The whole adventure was amazing and I wouldn’t have wanted to miss it! Special thanks to our wonderful dolphin, Mira!
